National Wildlife Refuges

Defenders of Wildlife is working to protect and strengthen the National Wildlife Refuge System, the only system of federal public lands in the United States dedicated to wildlife conservation.


National Forests and BLM Lands

Public lands provide diverse habitats and wide-open spaces essential to wildlife like elk, wolves, and salmon, but are under constant threat from logging, global warming, funding shortages and more.


Wildlife and Border Policy

Many imperiled species depend upon borderland habitat for their continued existence. Defenders of Wildlife is working to make sure border security legislation includes protections for fragile desert ecosystems and wildlife along our borders.


Your Lands, Your Wildlife

Defenders of Wildlife is a partner in the Your Lands, Your Wildlife campaign, a nationwide initiative to ensure that wildlife becomes a management priority on Forest Service and BLM lands, and that the wide open spaces that Americans value are sustained for generations to come.
