The Rocky Mountain Region Office is the newest addition to Defenders’ regional locations, having opened in September of 2007. This office serves as a coordinating “hub” for our other field staff in the region (Boise, Missoula, and Canmore, Alberta). This office works locally, regionally and nationally to aide in the conservation of wolves, grizzly bears, black-footed ferrets, and other Rocky Mountain and Great Plains wildlife.
Defenders works with local and regional conservation organizations, educators, biologists, state, tribal and federal agencies and the public at large to further our conservation mission.
Key Projects:
Northern Rockies Wolf Protection: Ensure that adequate protections are in place for the Northern Rockies wolf population. Healthy populations of wolves in the northern Rockies will serve as the source population for wolves to recolonize neighboring states such as Oregon and Washington. More >>
Protect and Restore Imperiled Wildlife: Work to protect and restore imperiled wildlife in the southern Rockies and Great Plains. See all imperiled species work >>
Grizzly Bear Conservation: Oversee Defenders' programs for grizzly bear conservation in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and Washington. More >>
